Lettering: the part that defines the category

Greek merch lives or dies on the lettering. The three routes:

• Tackle twill applique: letters cut from twill or felt and edged with a satin stitch — the classic, most premium-looking option. A double layer gives that contrast outline.
• Chenille: raised, fuzzy patch letters. Maximum retro-collegiate feel, popular for statement pieces and alumni items.
• Print: screen or puff print — cheapest and fastest, best for large-volume event tees.

Artwork & permissions — handle this first

Greek organisation names, letters, crests and insignia are often protected trademarks, and many organisations require officially licensed vendors or written approval before merch can be produced. That's a step you (or your chapter's nationals/HQ) need to clear on your side before production starts — we produce to the artwork you supply and confirm you have the right to use it. Sizing across a chapter

Timelines — the thing that goes wrong most

Greek merch is deadline-driven: recruitment, bid day, formal, homecoming. Work backwards from the event date and leave room for sampling (confirming fabric, colour and lettering on a physical sample), production, and shipping. Custom applique adds time versus a simple print. The single best thing you can do is start earlier than feels necessary — rushed decoration is where quality slips.
